The entrance test is the EIAT (Elevator Industry Aptitude Test): 100 multiple-choice questions, paper-administered, for a $25 fee — 35 reading (cloze fill-in-the-blank), 35 mechanical aptitude (illustrated, Bennett-style), and 30 math. You need 70% to pass, but the EIAT does not rank you — it’s a pass/fail gate only.

Your EIAT score doesn’t decide your rank — the interview does. After you pass, a hands-on tool assessment scores into a JAC interview (two interviewers, averaged, standardized rubric, 70% minimum). That interview score alone sets your position on the hiring list. Score 71% or 98% on the EIAT and you’re on equal footing walking into the interview — so prepare for both, and don’t stop at the test.
