A blueprint has a scale ratio of 1:50. If a room measures 8 inches on the blueprint, what is the actual length in feet?

Untimed on purpose: NEIEP does not publish a time limit or a calculator policy for the EIAT, so we don’t invent one. The real test is 100 questions on paper — Reading 35, Mechanical 35, Math 30 — and 70% is a pass/fail gate that does not rank you.

The format

Arithmetic through basic algebra. 5 options, and option E is always "No answer".

The "No answer" fifth option is the part that catches people out — it means you cannot back into the answer by elimination the way you can on a four-option question. Work the problem before you look at the options; the distractors are built from the usual arithmetic slips, so a wrong answer is often sitting right there looking correct.

70% is a pass/fail gate — the EIAT does not rank you. A section score is useful for deciding what to study, but the real test reports one pass/fail result across all 100 questions. Your position on the hiring list comes from the JAC interview alone.
