Untimed on purpose: NEIEP does not publish a time limit or a calculator policy for the EIAT, so we don’t invent one. The real test is 100 questions on paper — Reading 35, Mechanical 35, Math 30 — and 70% is a pass/fail gate that does not rank you.

The format

A sentence with one word missing and four candidate words. 4 options.

This is the section people prepare for wrongly. Almost all aptitude-test prep assumes reading comprehension means a passage followed by questions about it. The EIAT is cloze: it tests vocabulary in context, one sentence at a time, and nothing in it requires elevator knowledge. If you have been drilling passage blocks, you have been drilling the wrong format.

70% is a pass/fail gate — the EIAT does not rank you. A section score is useful for deciding what to study, but the real test reports one pass/fail result across all 100 questions. Your position on the hiring list comes from the JAC interview alone.
